Cultured, elegant...and filthy, 11 March, 2003 A Reviewer from England

In complete contrast to the author's previous work ("Thorsday Night", "Eternal Bondage") this is a gothic romance. Although the era and location are uncertain they somewhat resemble Europe in, say the early 19th. century.

The heroine, Isabella, is a naive young orphan who lands a job as tutor to the spoiled Lady Wulvedon and her eccentric brother, who live in a remote mansion and keep their employee locked in her room whenever her services are not required. All seems to run smoothly until the aristocratic siblings become rivals for Isabella's affections.

This is a nicely structured story, well written (the prose is somewhat flowery but this suits the setting rather well), and more emotionally satisfying than is common in this genre. For me there is a flavour of "The Story of O" here, although the story is completely original. The sex scenes are well spaced but invariably kinky and enhance rather than interrupt the flow of the story.

A very personal epilogue reflects on the author's view of dominant/submissive relationships.

Steamy and Gothic!

If you like steamy gothic erotica then this is the book for you. It's filled with sex and the story (as usual for Maria Isabel Pita - she's a great writer) is excellent. I recommend this one highly. It's just the thing if you like reading well-written erotica.

Review from FORUM Magazine U.K.

To Her Master Born is a lush, grown-up fairytale, set in a timeless place far away from the real world. Brother and sister engage in a beautifully written battle for possession of Isabella’s heart and soul, while she struggles to discover whether her love for Lord Wulvedon is more than a fantasy, or whether he will just use her as he has used many other slave girls. The punishments are sensuous rather than relentless, giving the story a particular appeal to those who find heavy SM a turn off.

Another domination thriller by Maria Isabel Pita

If you want to know what it's all about being in a master slave relationship then this is the author to read.

In typical Victorian erotica fashion, a young and innocent Isabella accepts a position as a live in tutor at the Wulvedon estate, a far removed gothic castle located in the back wood hills of
England. Her young charge is certainly not young but rather the mistress of the house Lady Wulvedon. The fact that she was restricted to her windowless room and only let out for lessons with the Lady of the house seemed not to really bother Isabella as she managed to accept her position in the house immediately...

The castle, run by the lady and her brother, is basically a sensual playground of hedonistic and pretty licentious goings on as brother and sister compete for the affections of the residents. The FABULOUS thing about this book that places it heads above other dom/discipline novels is that Isabella actually has more than a soft body but actually a very agile brain .... WOW ... and this is the magic ingredient to take us out of porn into delicious fields of pure erotica ....

You'll finish this book in one sitting just like I did ... make sure you start it when you have a few leisure, solitary hours.
